How to solve the problem when a screw-type chiller unit gives a fault alarm?

Common faults of industrial water chillers include high-pressure alarms. During the operation of water chillers, high-pressure alarms are frequently encountered! The high-pressure alarm of water chillers is usually caused by poor heat dissipation, resulting in poor cooling effect of the water chiller. Long-term high pressure can also lead to a large current, causing the compressor to burn out. So, how can we eliminate the high-pressure alarm of the water chiller?

The reasons for the high-pressure failure caused by the high-pressure alarm of the chiller are as follows:

The cooling water temperature is too high, resulting in poor condensation effect. The rated working condition of the cooling water required by the refrigeration machine is 30-35℃. High water temperature leads to poor heat dissipation, inevitably resulting in high condensation pressure. This often occurs in hot seasons. The reasons for high water temperature may be: malfunction of the cooling tower, such as failure of the fan or even reverse rotation, malfunction of the water distribution device. This indicates that the cooling water temperature is very high and rises rapidly; high external temperature, short passage, and limited available water volume. In such cases, the cooling water temperature usually remains at a relatively high level, which can be solved by increasing the storage tank.

2. The cooling water flow fails to reach the rated flow. The main manifestation is that the pressure difference between the inlet and outlet of the unit decreases (compared with the pressure difference in the initial stage of system operation), and the temperature difference increases. The insufficient water flow is caused by the lack of water or air in the system. The solution is to install an exhaust valve at the height of the pipeline for exhaust; if the filter screen of the pipeline is clogged or too fine, with limited permeability, an appropriate filter screen should be selected and the filter screen should be cleaned regularly; the pump is too small in size and the system is mismatched.

3. Condenser fouling or blockage. The condensate water is usually tap water and tends to form deposits at temperatures above 30℃. Additionally, since the cooling tower is an open system exposed to the air, dust and foreign substances can easily enter the cooling water system, causing the condenser to become clogged, reducing the heat exchange area, lowering efficiency, and affecting water flow. Its performance is reflected in the increased pressure difference and temperature difference between the inlet and outlet water of the unit, a very high manual condenser temperature, and the heating of the condenser copper tubes. The unit should undergo regular backwashing, and in necessary cases, chemical cleaning and descaling should be carried out.

4. Excessive refrigerant filling. This usually occurs after maintenance, indicating higher inlet and outlet pressures, balanced pressure, and higher compressor operating current. The exhaust should be carried out according to the suction and exhaust pressure, balanced pressure, and the rated working current until it returns to normal.

5. The refrigerant should be mixed with non-condensable gases such as air and nitrogen. This usually occurs after maintenance and before the vacuum pump is completed. It can only be emptied, then evacuated again, and then refilled with the refrigerant.

6. Electrical faults cause false alarms. Due to moisture in the high-voltage protection relay, poor contact or damage, moisture or damage in the unit electronic board, communication failure, false alarms occur. For such false faults, usually the high-voltage fault indicator light on the electronic board goes out or is faintly illuminated, manual reset of the high-voltage protection relay is ineffective, the "Hpreset" display on the computer appears or disappears automatically, and the compressor operating current and suction and exhaust pressures are normal.
